Maximo is a comic book series from Dreamwave Productions based on the Maximo series. Only the first issue was released, on January 2004, the series being cancelled alongside other comics due to complications that led to the company's shut down on January 2005. The first issue featured the story "Beauty Is Only Sword Deep", written by Beau Smith and illustrated by Alan Wang.
Synopsis[]
"Maximo...the two-fisted, sword slashing warrior from the wildly successful Capcom video game comes to life in the printed pages of comics. Written by Beau Smith, who also wrote the upcoming Capcom video game Maximo II, Maximo finds himself once again called on to save a kingdom from the clutches of evil. This time evil comes in the form of Skabb and his legion of decaying demons of death known as The Rot. This comic brings all the action of the video game and gives the readers an extra layer to the story of Maximo!"[1]
