The Ring of Pain is one of several abilities found in Maximo: Ghosts to Glory and added into the player's inventory, being lost upon the player's death unless moved into a permanent lockspot.
The Ring of Pain is a temporary ability that can be found throughout the game through either chests or dropped from a fallen enemy. When equipped, a Downward Strike now causes damage to enemies hit by the shockwave as multiple phantom blades burst from the ground upon impact
If Wider Shockwave is equipped, the Ring of Pain's shockwave radius will be expanded.
Maximo vs. Army of Zin[]
The Ring of Pain makes it's return in the sequel, Maximo vs. Army of Zin, this time as a permanent move that can be purchased from the Old Guard. Unlike, it's Ghosts to Glory counterpart, the phantom blades now appear faint and ethereal when performing a Downward Strike.
