The Torch (たいまつ), also known unofficially as the Fireball or the Flame is a weapon in the series that is mostly thrown in a short arc onto the ground and burns three to five flames on the ground. Among the Ghosts 'n Goblins players, it is considered one of the worst and undependable weapons in the series.
The Torch burns briefly in a single large flame if it hits the ground, but not if it hits an enemy directly. The flame lasts for nearly a second. Only two torches (or their ground fires) can be on the screen at a time, which can cause severe delays in firing if both torches reach the ground.
The Napalm (ナパーム), also known as Fireball and Fire Water, is a weapon similar to the Torch that flies to the ground and burns in three flames.
Up to two Torches can be thrown forward. When it hits a surface, it makes three small flames in a row. He can't throw more torches until the flames extinguish.
With the Bronze Armor or Golden Armor, the Torch is upgraded into the Magic Fireball (火柱のたいまつ, "Fireball Torch"). It now throws spinning flames instead of torches, and the flames from the ground are higher and move further.
With the Golden Armor, Arthur can also use the Barrier of Magic (盾の魔法). Three energy orbs temporarily surround Arthur and spin around to protect him, and they harm enemies on contact.
The Torch can only be used by Arthur. Arthur can throw up to two torches in an arc that creates flames in the ground. With the powerful armor, the torches become bigger and he can use its magic, which creates a pillar of light in front of him. The Discus has the same magic in this game.
